Best Buy VIVA Beauty Haul
So apparently Best Buy sells beauty products online under an umbrella called VIVA Beauty — and their products are a lot more affordable than the drugstore! *gasp* I’ll do a price comparison to show you the cost savings of buying through Best Buy VIVA Beauty vs. Walmart.
How I Discovered Best Buy VIVA Beauty
I randomly stumbled upon Best Buy VIVA Beauty when I was researching toners online. I was about to buy the toner on my next trip to the drugstore, but came across a link to Best Buy’s website selling the product — it was $6 off!
Since shipping is free when you spend over $20, I decided to pick up a few more items. After browsing around the website for a while, I noticed a ton of items were on sale and some were on clearance as well. Best Buy VIVA Beauty was also having an offer that if you purchase 3 items, you’ll receive 10% off each item.
How Much Money Can You Really Save on Best Buy VIVA Beauty?
I’m going to ignore taxes and the 10% off offer for simplicity. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Spellbound – on clearance for $3.97
Regular price: $8.47 (at Walmart)
Savings: $4.50
Sidenote: CoverGirl Spellbound is said to be a dupe for MAC Girl About Town!
Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in Medium 25 – on sale for $6.99 (regular price on Best Buy VIVA Beauty: $7.99)
Regular price: $7.96 (at Walmart)
Savings: $0.97
Sidenote: This particular shade (Medium 25) has a peachy undertone, which makes it great as an under-eye corrector. If you’re around my skintone (NC35) I would recommend checking it out!
Maybelline Illegal Length Fibre Extensions Mascara in Blackest Black – on sale for $6.99 (regular price on Best Buy VIVA Beauty: $9.99)
Regular price: $8.46 (at Walmart)
Savings: $1.47
Sidenote: This mascara in conjunction with L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara is amazing!
Live Clean Fresh Face Facial Toner – on sale for $6.49 (regular price on Best Buy VIVA Beauty: $12.49)
Regular price: $12.97 (at Walmart)
Savings: $6.48
Total Cost Savings (before taxes and the 10% offer not applied): $13.42
Now let’s bring taxes and the 10% offer back into the equation: If I purchased all of these products from Walmart, I would have spent $42.78 (after taxes). At Best Buy VIVA Beauty (including the 10% off offer and taxes), I paid $25.64. If you’re doing the math and it’s not adding up, it’s because only three items had the 10% offer applied to them.
TL;DR (or, I’m very confused right now): YOU ARE SAVING MONEY! ;)
How To Get The Most Bang For Your Buck
I would only recommend purchasing items that are on sale or clearance on Best Buy’s website. As you may have noticed, some of Best Buy’s regular prices are slightly more than Walmart’s (like both of the Maybelline products). If you buy products at regular price, there won’t be much of a cost savings for you.
Best Buy VIVA Beauty: Yay Or Nay?
Definitely a yay for me! Shipping was super quick (I got my package in one business day) and I feel like I got some pretty good deals. If there are some products that you’re eying at the drugstore, check out Best Buy VIVA Beauty to see if you can save a little money. :)
